Beach, an old estate and wetlands, all within an hour
South Beach is twenty minutes away, its Art Deco buildings lined up along the sand. The same distance in another direction, Vizcaya is a different Miami: a historic house, formal gardens and Biscayne Bay right in front. The Everglades are an hour west — sawgrass marsh and mangroves, nothing like the city. June to November is hurricane season, and summer is hot and humid.

A day with no port, spent in the water beside the yacht
The yacht calls at no port and nobody goes ashore; the marina platform comes down at the stern and the day is spent swimming, paddling and using the water toys alongside. What is on offer, and for how long, depends on where the yacht is, the sea that day and the safety rules on board.
- 03Mon, 11/22NassauBahamas08:00–19:00
The Queen's Staircase and a hilltop fort downtown, a coastal park to the west
The terminal is right in central Nassau; the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle on the hill are ten minutes on foot or by taxi, the old defensive line of the town. The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, in a restored historic building, is ten minutes away and shows the Bahamas beyond the beaches. Clifton Heritage National Park, on the west side of the island, is thirty minutes away: beaches, trails and old ruins. It is hot and humid, with sudden showers. November to April is drier; June to November is hurricane season.
- 04Tue, 11/23BiminiBahamas08:00–19:00
A small town on a small island, ringed by shallow sea
You come ashore at Alice Town on North Bimini, the main settlement; most of it is within five minutes' walk. The Dolphin House, a small museum built by hand by a local resident, is worth seeing for the building alone. The real subject here is the sea: Atlantic-side beaches and the shallow banks around the islands, ten minutes away. June to November is hurricane season.
